XAUUSD Daily Regime, 2026-10-27

Regime: Higher-timeframe bearish trend, with a corrective daily rebound now balancing near 4,013.

The completed W1 structure is bearish. Gold has made lower weekly highs since 4,696.66, then broke beneath the 4,066.36 to 4,073.38 support area last week and closed at 3,995.32. That breakdown is an observed development, not a pending trigger. The weekly low at 3,975.59 is the next structural reference, while 4,066.36 to 4,073.38 is now overhead supply by inference.

D1 remains bearish despite Monday's recovery. The latest completed daily candle rejected 3,978.05, reached 4,029.82 and closed higher at 4,016.94. This shows demand around 3,975.59 to 3,978.05, but price remains below the broken 4,021.03 area and well beneath the October resistance cluster from 4,057.36 through 4,104.91. The rebound hasn't repaired the sequence of lower highs and lower lows.

H4 and H1 are consolidating after the selloff. Monday's H4 range was 3,978.05 to 4,029.82. H1 twice pushed into the 4,025.17 to 4,029.82 area but couldn't hold there, then settled back into the middle of the range. The reference price is 4,012.93, from the M5 candle closed at 2026-10-26 23:00 UTC.

The latest M5 sequence after the prior completed H1 close showed short-term weakness already taking hold. Price opened the final hour at 4,016.91, slipped through 4,014, probed 4,011.43 and closed at 4,012.93. That downside trigger has already fired. Sellers haven't yet broken the nearby 4,008.33 intraday support, but buyers now need to reclaim 4,017.31 before another test of the session high becomes credible.

Scenario map

  • Bearish continuation, favoured: Rejection beneath 4,025.17 to 4,029.82, followed by a renewed loss of 4,008.33, would expose 3,992.83 to 3,988.69. Below that, focus shifts to 3,978.05 and the weekly low at 3,975.59. Acceptance beneath 3,975.59 would confirm continuation of the weekly decline.

  • Corrective recovery: An H1 close above 4,029.82 would break Monday's range ceiling and open 4,033.68, followed by 4,057.36 and the former support zone at 4,066.36 to 4,073.38. This would improve the short-term condition, but the broader bearish regime would remain intact below that former support.

  • Balance: Holding between 4,008.33 and 4,029.82 keeps price rotational. Inside that band, moves lack higher-timeframe confirmation and are vulnerable to reversal.

Event risk, 2026-10-27

  • 12:30 UTC: US Durable Goods Orders m/m, high importance
  • 14:00 UTC: US New Home Sales, high importance
  • 14:00 UTC: US CB Consumer Confidence Index, high importance

The two simultaneous 14:00 UTC releases create the day's largest scheduled volatility window. Price location relative to 4,008.33 and 4,029.82 after those releases should decide whether Monday's rebound extends or the weekly decline resumes.

What changed

The weakness described in the daily regime continued before the Asia opening. After the latest completed H1 candle closed at 4012.93, M5 price slipped to 4010.53, rebounded to 4013.74 and settled at 4012.48. The earlier move below 4014 has already happened and is context, not a fresh trigger.

Sellers haven't broken 4008.33. Buyers also haven't reclaimed 4017.31, leaving price compressed near the lower half of Monday's 3978.05 to 4029.82 range. That keeps a modest bearish lean, but continuation still requires acceptance below support after Asia opens.

The selected 2026-10-26 Asia case warns against selling the first support break. Price fell close to the weekly low, then reversed sharply through resistance. The 2026-10-22 case shows the other side: once its defended floor failed, downside expansion was much larger than the range case anticipated. Both began with compression and rejection, but neither supplies a base rate. Here, 4008.33 remains intact, so the preferred bearish branch needs a close below it and a failed reclaim rather than a wick through support.

Key Levels

  • 4029.82: Monday's daily, H4 and H1 range high. An H1 close above it would improve the corrective structure without changing the accepted daily regime.
  • 4025.17-4026.27: nearby resistance zone from Monday's H4 and H1 highs.
  • 4017.31: immediate bearish invalidation and the first level buyers must reclaim.
  • 4012.43-4013.05: recent H1 closing area and current balance reference.
  • 4010.53: pre-opening M5 low. It has already traded and shouldn't be treated as a new breakdown trigger.
  • 4008.33: Monday's late H1 low and the remaining downside trigger.
  • 4003.24-4004.16: first downside target zone from Monday's intraday swing structure.
  • 3992.83-3993.03: second downside target zone from the H4 rebound low and H1 selloff close.
  • 3988.69: separate H1 and H4 swing low below the second target zone.
  • 3975.59-3978.05: major support zone combining the weekly low and Monday's daily low.

Session Map

  • 00:00 to 02:00 UTC: Opening discovery. Wait for completed M5 confirmation outside 4008.33 to 4017.31. The pre-opening dip to 4010.53 isn't a trigger for this preparation.
  • 02:00 to 05:00 UTC: Follow-through window. Favor downside only if 4008.33 rejects a reclaim. A recovery needs 4017.31 to hold as support before targeting 4025.17-4026.27.
  • 05:00 to 08:00 UTC: Late Asia. Avoid chasing a move that has already reached its nearest target zone. Require a fresh hold or rejection before considering the next objective.

No scheduled calendar event falls inside the Asia phase. The supplied high-importance US releases occur after this preparation window.

No-Trade Conditions

Do not sell the first wick below 4008.33. Wait for a completed M5 close beneath it and a failed reclaim, especially given the sharp reversal in the selected 2026-10-26 case.

Do not buy below 4017.31, and don't chase a close above it directly into 4025.17-4026.27. Stand aside if M5 candles keep crossing 4012.43-4013.05, if a breakout immediately closes back inside 4008.33 to 4017.31, or if an opening candle is too wide to leave room before the nearest target.

What to Watch — Invalidation

A completed M5 close above 4017.31 that holds on retest invalidates the bearish Asia lean and favors correction toward 4025.17-4026.27. Acceptance above 4029.82 would strengthen that correction, but it wouldn't by itself overturn the accepted higher-timeframe bearish regime.

For continuation, 4008.33 must fail after the phase opens. If price breaks it but quickly reclaims the level, treat that as a failed breakdown rather than seller control. Sustained trade below 3988.69 would expose the 3975.59-3978.05 major support zone.

That stopped 2.46 above the prepared 3975.59 downside objective. Price then reversed, closed an hourly candle above 4006.01, reached 4019.22, and finished at 4009.57. The preparation outcome is partial because the grading data are hourly while every scenario required completed M5 confirmation. The phase traded through both directional trigger areas, but the required M5 sequences and their timing cannot be established. There was no confirmed trigger and no gradeable trade.” Lesson from that review: “The downside map was useful, but the trigger demanded more than a support break. Price came close to 3975.59 before reversing through the bearish invalidation area. Without the specified failed reclaim sequence, the early selloff can't be treated as a valid bearish execution. The corrective branch described the eventual direction better, including the move toward 4016.62. Its activation still depe”
