- Market data as of
EURUSD daily regime, 28 October 2026
EURUSD is in a bearish daily regime. The reference price is 1.11299 from the M5 close at 23:00 UTC on 27 October. Sellers remain in control across W1, D1, H4 and H1, although price is approaching the 1.11125 weekly support area where continuation may become less efficient.
Structure
W1 has declined from the August peak at 1.17111 through a sequence of lower highs and lower lows. The recovery week ending 17 October failed at 1.12691, and the following week closed lower at 1.12019. That leaves 1.12604 to 1.12691 as the nearest weekly resistance band. The main support is the 1.11125 low from the week ending 17 October.
D1 confirms renewed downside after the rebound from 1.11125 stalled beneath 1.12691. The completed 26 and 27 October candles closed at 1.11735 and 1.11277, with the latest session finishing near its 1.11211 low. Price has already broken the 1.11522 and 1.11441 support references, so those levels now belong to overhead resistance. The 1.11125 low has not broken yet.
H4 and H1 condition
H4 is trending lower. Successive rebounds have weakened from 1.12262 to 1.11950, then 1.11765, while the latest completed H4 candle closed at 1.11277 after reaching 1.11211. Immediate resistance sits at 1.11381, followed by 1.11534 to 1.11540. A stronger recovery would still face 1.11726 to 1.11765.
H1 shows persistent lower highs and lower lows. The 20:00 UTC candle drove through 1.11320 and reached 1.11211. The next two completed hours held above that low and closed at 1.11277 and 1.11299, but neither recovered 1.11306, let alone 1.11362. This is stabilization at the lows, not an observed reversal.
Latest M5 development
After the latest H1 close at 22:00 UTC, M5 climbed from 1.11269 to 1.11306, then eased to the 1.11299 reference close at 23:00 UTC. The bounce has therefore tested the bottom of resistance without reclaiming it. Earlier breaks of 1.11522, 1.11441, 1.11320 and 1.11295 have already occurred and should be treated as completed bearish developments.
Levels and scenarios
- Bearish continuation: Acceptance below 1.11211 would expose 1.11125. A confirmed break of 1.11125 would extend the established weekly decline, with 1.11000 the next psychological reference.
- Near-term recovery: Reclaiming 1.11306 would relieve immediate pressure, but 1.11362 to 1.11381 is the first meaningful test. Above that, 1.11534 to 1.11540 is the resistance band that would need to give way before the H1 decline materially weakens.
- Regime change: The broader bearish structure remains intact below 1.11765. A recovery through 1.12262 would be needed to challenge the current H4 sequence, while 1.12604 to 1.12691 remains the decisive weekly ceiling.
Event risk
High-impact USD risk is concentrated late on 28 October: EIA Crude Oil Stocks Change at 14:30 UTC, the Fed Interest Rate Decision at 18:00 UTC, and the FOMC Press Conference at 18:30 UTC. The rate decision and press conference can produce sharp moves through nearby support or resistance, so an initial break around those releases needs closing confirmation rather than assumption.

Session Card
Day type: trend | Lean: short | Lead scenario: 1.11211 continuation, 50% | Key invalidation: 1.11306 | Reference: 1.11286, M5 close at 2026-10-27 23:30 UTC
What changed
The accepted daily regime remains bearish. EURUSD closed the latest completed H1 at 1.11299 after rebounding from 1.11211 to 1.11306. The completed M5 candles after that H1 close then slipped from 1.11298 to 1.11286, with a 1.11301 high. The bounce therefore stalled beneath 1.11306 rather than developing into a reclaim.
The breaks of 1.11522, 1.11441, 1.11320 and 1.11295 are completed developments, not pending triggers. Immediate attention moves to the still-intact 1.11211 low and the untested 1.11125 weekly support. Selling into that weekly level has less room than earlier continuation legs, so a close, bounded retest and failed reclaim are required before either short plan becomes executable.
The selected historical cases warn against assuming a bearish close must follow a clean bearish path. Both featured failed or repaired breaks. The difference here is that no listed high-impact event falls inside the Asia window, while price is already close to established weekly support. Those cases challenge the continuation lead but do not provide a numerical base rate. The prior phase reviews contain no assessed observations, so they do not support recalibrating the planning weights.
Scenario Map
| Scenario | Weight | Trigger | Path & target | Invalidation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| --- | ---: | --- | --- | --- |
| 1.11211 continuation | 50% | One completed M5 close below 1.11211, followed within the next 3 completed M5 bars by a retest of 1.11201-1.11221. The retest must fail with an M5 close at or below 1.11211. Entry: 1.11195-1.11210 after that failed reclaim. Expiry: 07:55 UTC. A break that reaches 1.11125 before the retest, or confirms outside the entry budget, is passed. | First opposition: 1.11125, the October 14 weekly low. This is the first target and the move must not be chased once it has traded. | Scenario close invalidation: one completed M5 close above 1.11221 after the breakdown. Structural stop: 1.11235, beyond the retest ceiling and the post-low rebound base. From the worst short entry at 1.11195, room to 1.11125 is 0.00070 against 0.00040 to the stop before costs. Broker spread and slippage are unknown. |
| Weekly-support break | 25% | One completed M5 close below 1.11125, followed within the next 3 completed M5 bars by a retest of 1.11115-1.11135. The retest must fail with an M5 close at or below 1.11125. Entry: 1.11110-1.11124 after that failed reclaim. Expiry: 07:55 UTC. A direct move to 1.11000 before the retest, or confirmation outside the entry budget, is passed. | First opposition: 1.11000, the next supplied psychological reference and first target after confirmed loss of weekly support. | Scenario close invalidation: one completed M5 close above 1.11135 after the break. Structural stop: 1.11150, above the weekly-low retest band. From the worst short entry at 1.11110, room to 1.11000 is 0.00110 against 0.00040 to the stop before costs. Broker spread and slippage are unknown. |
| Weekly-support rejection | 25% | Price must test 1.11115-1.11135 without an M5 close below 1.11125, then produce one completed M5 close above 1.11211. Within the next 3 completed M5 bars, 1.11201-1.11221 must be retested and hold with an M5 close at or above 1.11211. Context-only, no entry. | First opposition: 1.11306, the latest H1 rebound high. If that level is reclaimed, the next target is the grouped 1.11362-1.11381 zone from the latest H1 and H4 resistance highs. | Structural invalidation: one completed M5 close below 1.11125. A defensible stop belongs below 1.11125, leaving insufficient supported room to 1.11306 from a post-confirmation entry once unknown costs are included. |
Key Levels
- 1.11362-1.11381: Grouped resistance target zone. It combines the 18:00 H1 high at 1.11362 and latest H4 high at 1.11381. Their 0.00019 gap is within the supplied 0.000303 target-zone limit.
- 1.11306: Latest H1 rebound high and the first opposition to any recovery. The completed test has already occurred, but no reclaim has been observed.
- 1.11211: October 27 low and immediate downside decision level.
- 1.11125: Untested weekly support from October 14 and first opposition below 1.11211.
- 1.11000: Next supplied psychological reference after a confirmed weekly-support break.
Session Map
- 00:00 UTC: Asia window begins and Tokyo cash trading opens at 09:00 Japan Standard Time. Let the opening spread settle before judging an M5 close and retest sequence.
- 01:30 UTC: Shanghai cash trading opens at 09:30 China Standard Time. Do not enter from an opening wick alone.
- 07:00 UTC: Frankfurt cash trading opens at 08:00 Central European Time. Any active candidate must still complete its own confirmation and remain inside its entry budget.
- 07:55 UTC: Final M5 expiry for new entries. All candidates expire before the 08:00 UTC phase boundary.
No listed high-impact event occurs inside this phase. The scheduled USD events at 14:30, 18:00 and 18:30 UTC sit outside the Asia window and do not justify holding an expired Asia candidate open.
No-Trade Conditions
Do not trade a wick through 1.11211 or 1.11125. No entry is valid without its stated M5 close, retest and confirmation within 3 completed M5 bars.
Pass if price confirms outside the stated entry area, reaches the first opposition before entry, or makes a decisive reclaim that cancels the candidate. Any later break is a new candidate and must complete the full sequence again. Stand aside if broker spread or expected slippage consumes a material share of the stated room, since transaction costs were not supplied.
Avoid new entries during the first completed M5 bar after the 00:00, 01:30 and 07:00 UTC cash openings. If price remains trapped between 1.11211 and 1.11306 without a complete trigger, treat the session as compression rather than inventing an entry.
What to Watch — Invalidation
A confirmed reclaim of 1.11306 cancels the immediate continuation lead and shifts attention to 1.11362-1.11381. It does not change the accepted bearish daily regime. That broader regime remains intact below 1.11765.
Below price, an M5 close through 1.11211 only opens the path to 1.11125 after the bounded failed reclaim. A later confirmed loss of 1.11125 is a separate candidate toward 1.11000. If 1.11125 rejects and price completes the 1.11211 reclaim sequence, the short continuation idea is invalidated for that candidate, but the resulting long remains context-only because the structural stop and first opposition do not leave defensible executable room.

Historical review excerpt: “EURUSD traded October 5, 2026 as an Asia breakdown trap. The pair opened at 1.12558, fell to 1.11607 before London, then recovered to close at 1.12227. The Short lean got the close direction right, but the Trend day call and 45% direct-continuation lead missed the failure to extend below 1.11607 and the late reclaim of 1.12147.” Lesson from that review: “The moderate surprise was not the repair itself. The preparation gave Asia-break failure 33% and warned that 1.76 times daily ATR had already been spent before London. What it did not map was a slow repair that reclaimed 1.12147 only late, without reaching the 1.12516 threshold required by the full repair branch. That outcome was foreseeable from the extension warning and the failure to close belo” Whole-day preparation; original publication cutoff unverified.

Differences: event risk: current normal, historical unknown; ATR: current 0.544736%, historical unknown. Historical review assessment: partial (the journal’s assessment). Historical review excerpt: “EURUSD traded September 30, 2026 as a trap session. The pair opened at 1.13440, broke above the prepared 1.13587 resistance area, reached 1.13800, and then reversed to close at 1.13247. The short lean got the closing direction right, but the preparation's Trend call and 55% downside-continuation lead did not describe the path. The 27% post-trend digestion or failed-break branch did.” Lesson from that review: “The moderate surprise was the path, not the closing direction. The preparation allowed for a failed break and warned that 15:00 to 16:00 UTC was reversal-prone, so the session did not produce an unmapped outcome. The miss was assigning only 27% to the branch that best fit a major-data day immediately after a large trend session. - Day-type precondition checks: Raise trap and digestion weight after” Whole-day preparation; original publication cutoff unverified.
