The day’s baseline assessment, kept as published.

Market data as of

EURUSD daily regime, 30 October 2026

Regime: Higher-timeframe bearish structure, short-term bullish recovery. The reference is 1.11905 from the M5 candle closed at 23:00 UTC on 29 October.

Structure

Observation: The completed W1 sequence remains below the August peak at 1.17111 and shows a broad progression of lower highs and lower lows into October. The latest completed week closed at 1.12019, inside the recent 1.11125 to 1.12691 range. D1 fell from 1.14953 in September to 1.11126 on 28 October, then reversed. The 29 October candle traded down to 1.11040 and closed at 1.11747, reclaiming 1.11125, 1.11211 and the previous daily close at 1.11515.

Inference: The weekly trend is still bearish, but the daily rejection from 1.11040 has interrupted immediate downside continuation. Price is recovering into former support and congestion, so this is a countertrend rebound unless D1 can establish acceptance above 1.12019 and then 1.12604 to 1.12691.

H4 and H1 condition

Observation: H4 based at 1.11040 and produced two strong recovery candles, closing at 1.11689 and 1.11747. H1 then extended the move. The final completed H1 candle opened at 1.11784, reached 1.11918 and closed at 1.11905, near its high. This put price above the 29 October high at 1.11852 and above the prior daily close at 1.11747.

Inference: Intraday momentum is bullish, but price is approaching the first meaningful resistance band at 1.11918 to 1.12019. The rise is constructive while pullbacks hold above 1.11747, with 1.11605 to 1.11630 acting as deeper intraday support.

Latest M5 development

The completed M5 sequence inside the latest H1 candle advanced from 1.11784 to 1.11918 and closed at 1.11905. The earlier break below 1.11125 has already occurred and was rejected, so it is now an observed liquidity sweep and reclaim, not a pending bearish trigger. No completed M5 candle is supplied after the 23:00 UTC H1 close.

Scenario map

  • Bullish continuation: Holding 1.11747 and clearing 1.11918 would keep pressure on 1.12019. Acceptance above 1.12019 would expose 1.12262, followed by 1.12604 to 1.12691. That would strengthen the case that the rebound is developing beyond a short-covering move.

  • Stall and rotation: Rejection from 1.11918 to 1.12019, while remaining above 1.11605, would leave price consolidating after a sharp recovery. This would preserve the intraday bullish condition without confirming a broader reversal.

  • Bearish resumption: A move back below 1.11605, followed by loss of 1.11515, would weaken the recovery and reopen 1.11277. The 1.11040 low is the decisive downside reference. Trading below it would restore the daily bearish sequence and expose the 14 October low at 1.11125 as failed reclaimed support.

Session Card

Day type: event-suspended | Lean: conditional bullish while 1.11605 holds | Lead scenario: upside acceptance, 40% | Key invalidation: 1.11605 | Reference: 1.11858, M5 close at 23:30 UTC on 29 October 2026

What changed

The final completed H1 closed at 1.11905 near its 1.11918 high, confirming the recovery above the 1.11852 daily high. The six completed M5 candles after that H1 close retested 1.11918, then eased to 1.11858 by 23:30 UTC. That is a shallow rejection, not acceptance above resistance. The pullback stopped at 1.11852, so the former daily high held on its first completed test.

The rebound remains constructive, but it has reached opposition after rising from 1.11040. The next decision is whether Asia can establish acceptance above 1.12019 or rotate toward deeper support. The earlier break below 1.11125 and recovery from 1.11040 are completed context, not pending triggers.

Earlier selected event-day reviews warn against assuming the first break will hold. The 11 September downside impulse became a trap, while 14 October developed into a delayed trend after initial suspension. Those were full-day cases rather than Asia-phase evidence. The material difference today is that EUR GDP arrives at 07:00 UTC, near the end of this phase, with price already pressing resistance after a sharp recovery.

Upside acceptance40%One completed M5 candle closes at or above 1.12025. Within the next three completed M5 candles, price must retest 1.12005-1.12025 and then produce one M5 close at or above 1.12019. An intervening M5 close below 1.11918 cancels that candidate. Entry: 1.12020-1.12030 after the confirming close. Expiry: 06:45 UTC.First opposition: 1.12111. A hold above it opens 1.12167, then 1.12262.Scenario close invalidation: completed M5 close below 1.11918 after confirmation. Structural stop: 1.11960, below the retest floor and reclaimed 1.12019 structure.
Deeper pullback holds35%Price trades into the 1.11605-1.11630 support zone, then within the next four completed M5 candles prints two consecutive closes at or above 1.11630. Any M5 close below 1.11605 before the second confirming close cancels the candidate. Entry: 1.11630-1.11645 after the second close. Expiry: 06:45 UTC.First opposition: 1.11747. Above that, 1.11852 is the next objective, followed by 1.11918.Scenario close invalidation: completed M5 close below 1.11605 after confirmation. Structural stop: 1.11580, beneath the clustered support zone.
Recovery fails below 1.1160525%One completed M5 candle closes at or below 1.11600. Within the next three completed M5 candles, price must retest 1.11595-1.11615 and then produce a second M5 close at or below 1.11600. A close above 1.11630 cancels that candidate. Entry: 1.11585-1.11600 after the second close. Expiry: 06:45 UTC.First opposition: 1.11515. A clean loss exposes 1.11277, but no entry may chase below the stated budget.Scenario close invalidation: completed M5 close above 1.11630 after confirmation. Structural stop: 1.11650, above the failed-reclaim area and clustered support.

From the worst permitted entries, the gross room to first opposition is 8.1 pips for upside acceptance against a 7.0-pip stop, 10.2 pips for the deeper-pullback long against a 6.5-pip stop, and 7.0 pips for the downside break against a 6.5-pip stop. No spread, commission or slippage data were supplied, so those unknown costs reduce the available room. Pass any trigger that completes outside its entry budget.

Session Map

  • 00:00 UTC, Tokyo cash open at 09:00 JST: Scenarios begin watching only after the phase has opened and the preparation is public. Do not treat the pre-open test of 1.11918 as a fresh trigger.
  • 00:00 to 05:30 UTC: The cleanest decision window. Require the full close and bounded-retest sequence before using an entry budget.
  • 05:30 to 06:45 UTC: Reduce tolerance for slow confirmations. A trigger must complete with enough time to reach first opposition before the event blackout.
  • 06:45 to 07:30 UTC: No new entries around the 07:00 UTC EUR GDP release. Existing unfilled candidates expire at 06:45 UTC.
  • 07:30 to 08:00 UTC: Observe whether the release holds or reverses the established structure. No new Asia entry, because the remaining window is too short for the required confirmation and retest sequence.

No-Trade Conditions

Do not trade a wick through a trigger, a close without the specified retest, or a retest arriving after its three-bar or four-bar limit. If a candidate is cancelled by its decisive reclaim, any later break is a new candidate and must repeat the entire confirmation sequence.

Stand aside if price reaches the first opposition before entry, confirms outside the stated entry budget, or gaps across the budget. Do not chase a move below 1.11515 or above 1.12111 after its first objective has already been reached.

Take no new position from 06:45 UTC through the 08:00 UTC phase end. Unknown spread and slippage are material because the room to first opposition is only 7.0 to 10.2 pips. Pass the trade if actual costs make that room impractical.

What to Watch — Invalidation

A completed M5 close below 1.11605 invalidates the short-term bullish recovery condition and shifts attention to 1.11515, then 1.11277. It does not by itself change the accepted higher-timeframe bearish regime.

Acceptance above 1.12019 would extend the countertrend recovery, but the broader bearish structure remains intact unless price can later establish above 1.12262 and the higher daily resistance beyond it. Failure at 1.11918 or 1.12019 without a confirmed support break is rotation, not a short trigger.

Historical review excerpt: “On October 14, 2026, EURUSD stayed contained through the scheduled CPI window, then resolved lower during delayed New York trading. The preparation mapped the bearish acceptance path and its timing, but the full session became a trend day and the neutral lean finished on the wrong side of a 41.3-pip close-to-open decline.” Lesson from that review: “The bearish resolution itself was mapped, but its size was not. EURUSD extended 38.8 pips below the final 1.11513 target before recovering, and the day became a trend session after spending most of the scheduled event window in suspension. That was a moderate surprise, but the delayed timing was foreseeable because the preparation had already marked 14:30 to 16:30 UTC as the second decision window” Whole-day preparation; original publication cutoff unverified.

Historical review excerpt: “EURUSD opened September 11 at 1.16063, traded a 1.15688-1.16171 range, and closed at 1.15933. The preparation correctly kept the outright lean neutral and mapped the lower-edge sweep-and-return path, but its 40% lead expected a hot-CPI downside break to hold; instead, price failed below 1.15916 and produced a trap session best described by the 35% containment branch. ---” Lesson from that review: “The moderate surprise was not the hot CPI print or the initial downside move; both were explicitly mapped. It was the market's refusal to sustain that move despite the size of the inflation surprise. The reversal was foreseeable because the preparation identified first-impulse fade risk, a second catalyst at 14:00 UTC, and the need for displaced H1 acceptance, but those warnings were assigned to t” Whole-day preparation; original publication cutoff unverified.

Historical review excerpt: “EURUSD opened Wednesday at 1.16716 and closed at 1.16515, never closing beyond either edge of the 1.16353-1.16824 digestion band -- so the map's range/digestion co-lead (30%) technically held. But the session was not the quiet rotation that description implies. Core PCE, GDP, and GDP Sales all printed exactly on forecast at 12:30 UTC, leaving the hot/soft-PCE framing with no confirming surprise, yet a real beat in Durable Goods Orders (1.1% vs 0.8% forecast) drove a genuine dollar-up, EUR-down grind that formed in the delayed-resolution window and pressed to a session low of 1.16416 -- just 6.” Lesson from that review: “Low surprise, but a real test. The 12:30 UTC cluster was almost entirely inline -- only Durable Goods surprised -- yet the session still produced a coherent 30-pip directional break that pressed the digestion floor to within 6.3 pips of confirmation. This is not the calendar-quiet, catalyst-free grind of recent sessions; the print mattered, it just fell short of full structural confirmation. - The” Whole-day preparation; original publication cutoff unverified.
