XAUUSD Daily Regime, 3 November 2026
Regime: Higher-timeframe bearish correction, with a short-term rebound that hasn't yet reversed the downtrend.
The completed weekly structure remains bearish. XAUUSD has fallen from the 4,696.66 August high through successive lower weekly highs, then closed the latest week at 3,875.28 after reaching 3,869.99. The last two completed weeks closed at 3,995.32 and 3,875.28, confirming sustained downside pressure rather than a settled base. The current price remains below the broken 3,975.59 to 3,995.32 area and well below 4,082.54, so the weekly trend still favors sellers.
Daily price action shows a rebound inside that decline. The 2 November candle rejected 3,878.97 and closed at 3,946.36, up from its 3,883.75 open, after the prior session's sharp fall from 4,024.59 to 3,875.28. That recovery is meaningful, but it hasn't reclaimed the prior breakdown zone around 3,975.59 to 4,005.19. The inference is that this is a corrective bounce unless price can establish daily acceptance above that zone.
H4 and H1 condition
H4 turned upward from 3,878.97 and produced a sequence of recovery legs, including a strong 3,897.65 to 3,937.37 candle and a follow-through close at 3,957.70. The advance stalled at 3,970.19. The final H4 candle then closed at 3,946.36, showing profit-taking but holding above its 3,937.35 low. This leaves H4 in a rebound phase, capped beneath nearby daily resistance.
H1 confirms that momentum cooled after the 3,970.19 high. Price formed lower closes through 3,957.70, 3,953.32 and 3,945.91, then stabilized. The last completed H1 candle closed at 3,946.36 at 22:00 UTC, within a narrow 3,944.08 to 3,947.91 range. The reference price is therefore 3,946.36 from that completed M5 and H1 close, not an intraday estimate.
Latest M5 development
The intraday rally had already fired before the cutoff. M5 broke out from the 3,896 to 3,906 base after 13:20 UTC, reached 3,950.34, consolidated, and extended to 3,970.19 at 16:40 UTC. It then reversed into a controlled decline, breaking below 3,953 and testing 3,937.35 before recovering modestly.
After the 21:00 UTC H1 close, the supplied M5 sequence resumed at 21:20 UTC and stayed compressed between 3,944.08 and 3,947.91. It closed at 3,946.36 at 22:00 UTC. No fresh breakout followed the latest completed H1 close, so the immediate condition is balance near 3,946 after the pullback, not active upside continuation.
Levels and remaining scenarios
- 3,970.19: Session high and first resistance. A sustained move above it would reopen the rebound toward 3,975.59, then the 3,989.04 to 4,005.19 supply area.
- 3,950.34 to 3,957.70: Near-term resistance created by the breakout high and subsequent H1 closes. Recovery through this band would improve the chance of another test of 3,970.19.
- 3,937.35 to 3,934.78: Immediate support. This area was tested during the late pullback and remained intact at the cutoff.
- 3,915.48 to 3,919.21: Secondary support from the earlier H4 and intraday structure. Losing 3,934.78 would expose this band.
- 3,896.18 to 3,906.83: Breakout origin and stronger intraday support. A return here would erase most of the 2 November impulse.
- 3,878.97 to 3,869.99: Major downside reference. A break below 3,869.99 would extend the weekly downtrend to a new supplied-period low.
The favored path is consolidation or a limited retest higher while 3,934.78 holds, but the broader bearish regime limits confidence in continuation. Acceptance above 3,970.19 would strengthen the rebound; reclaiming 4,005.19 is needed before the daily structure starts to look materially repaired. Below 3,934.78, the rebound weakens and attention shifts to 3,919.21, then the 3,896.18 to 3,906.83 base.
Event risk
The 2 November USD events at 15:00 UTC had passed before the cutoff and coincided with the established intraday upswing, though the candles alone don't prove causation. The remaining dated risk is 3 November 2026 at 15:00 UTC, when high-importance US JOLTS Job Openings data is scheduled. That release can disrupt the narrow late-session balance and produce a fast test of either 3,970.19 or 3,934.78.

Session Card
Day type: range | Lean: bullish while 3934.78 holds | Lead scenario: Support-zone hold, 40% | Key invalidation: 3934.78 | Reference: 3944.99, M5 close at 2026-11-02 23:30 UTC
What changed
After the latest completed H1 candle closed at 3946.36 at 22:00 UTC, M5 reached 3948.85, fell to 3942.79 and settled at 3944.99. This was another narrow rotation, not a fresh breakout. The 3950.34 to 3953.32 resistance zone remains unreclaimed, while the 3934.78 to 3937.35 support zone has not received a new test since that H1 close.
The 2 November rebound reached 3970.19 before losing momentum, but its late pullback held above 3934.78. That keeps a limited recovery path open during Asia without repairing the accepted higher-timeframe bearish correction.
Selected range-like Asia cases on 29 and 30 October expanded into whipsaw and trend sessions. That challenges the range call here. The difference is that price now opens inside a tight late-session balance with clear structure on both sides, so expansion needs a completed break and bounded retest rather than a directional assumption.
Scenario Map
| Scenario | Weight | Trigger | Path & target | Invalidation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Support-zone hold | 40% | After 00:00 UTC and public availability, price must trade into 3934.78-3937.35, then produce 1 completed M5 close at or above 3938.80. Within the next 2 M5 bars, require a retest of 3937.35-3938.80 that never trades below 3934.78 and produces a second M5 close at or above 3938.80. Entry: 3938.80-3940.00 after the held retest. Expiry: 07:30 UTC. | First opposition: 3950.34-3953.32 target zone, combining the earlier breakout high and subsequent H1 closing resistance. | Scenario invalidation: completed M5 close below 3934.78 after confirmation. Structural stop: 3932.80, below the H4 support low and permitted retest floor. |
| Support-zone breakdown | 35% | After 00:00 UTC and public availability, require 1 completed M5 close below 3934.78. Within the next 3 M5 bars, price must retest 3934.78-3937.35, never trade above 3938.80 and produce a second M5 close at or below 3934.78. Entry: 3933.50-3934.70 after the failed reclaim. Expiry: 07:30 UTC. | First opposition: 3919.21, the earlier H4 recovery high. If it fails, 3915.48 is the next separate objective. | Scenario invalidation: completed M5 close above 3937.35 after confirmation. Structural stop: 3939.20, above the failed-reclaim zone and confirmation ceiling. |
| Recovery through 3957.70 | 25% | After 00:00 UTC and public availability, require 1 completed M5 close above 3957.70. Within the next 3 M5 bars, price must retest 3953.32-3957.70, never trade below 3952.70 and produce a second M5 close at or above 3957.70. Entry: 3957.70-3958.40 after the held retest. Expiry: 07:30 UTC. | First opposition: 3965.54, the late H4 and M5 recovery high. If it becomes support, 3970.19 is the next separate objective. | Scenario invalidation: completed M5 close below 3953.32 after confirmation. Structural stop: 3951.80, below the retest floor and 3952.72 pullback structure. |
Key Levels
- 3970.19: completed session high and separate resistance beyond 3965.54.
- 3965.54: first opposition after confirmed acceptance above 3957.70.
- 3957.70: H4 close and recovery threshold.
- 3950.34-3953.32: grouped resistance from the breakout high and later H1 closing structure.
- 3934.78-3937.35: immediate support zone formed by the H4 low and late pullback low.
- 3919.21: first downside opposition below confirmed support failure.
- 3915.48: next separate H4 support. Its 3.73-point gap from 3919.21 is just beyond the supplied 3.72-point grouping tolerance.
Session Map
- 00:00 UTC: Asia begins with the 09:00 Japan Standard Time Tokyo cash open. Treat any opening break as discovery until its complete M5 confirmation sequence finishes.
- 01:30 UTC: Hong Kong and Shanghai cash markets open at 09:30 Hong Kong Time and China Standard Time. Pass an impulse that reaches first opposition before offering its bounded retest.
- 02:00 to 05:00 UTC: Main follow-through window. Holding 3934.78 favors rotation toward 3950.34-3953.32; confirmed failure shifts focus to 3919.21.
- 05:00 to 08:00 UTC: Late phase. New entries expire at 07:30 UTC, leaving the final 30 minutes for management only.
No scheduled calendar event falls inside this phase.
No-Trade Conditions
Stand aside while M5 repeatedly crosses 3937.35 to 3950.34 without completing a close and retest sequence. A wick through either boundary is insufficient. Do not chase a move if confirmation closes outside its entry budget or the first opposition has already traded.
The support-hold entry leaves 10.34 points from its worst permitted entry at 3940.00 to 3950.34, against 7.20 points to the 3932.80 stop. The breakdown entry leaves 14.29 points from 3933.50 to 3919.21, against 5.70 points to the 3939.20 stop. The recovery entry leaves 7.14 points from 3958.40 to 3965.54, against 6.60 points to the 3951.80 stop. Spread, commission and slippage are unknown and reduce the available room, especially on the recovery branch.
Each candidate progresses from watching to triggered only after both required closes and the bounded retest. A decisive reclaim cancels a breakdown candidate, and a decisive loss of support cancels a hold candidate. Any later break starts a new sequence. Pass a candidate if its retest exceeds the stated bar limit.
What to Watch — Invalidation
A completed M5 close below 3934.78 followed by the stated failed reclaim invalidates the immediate bullish Asia lean and exposes 3919.21, then 3915.48. That would weaken the short-term rebound without changing the accepted daily bearish-correction regime. Conversely, acceptance above 3957.70 improves the recovery path, but only a later break of 3970.19 would clear the completed rebound high.

Price remained below the 4026.19 bearish invalidation and ultimately fell through every prepared downside objective. The trigger discipline still matters. The first valid Support breakdown confirmation failed before its target, so the later breakdown was a new move, not a successful continuation of th”

Asia supplied momentum first and confirmation never followed. Counting the later target touches would turn a forecast of direction into a false execution win. The recovery branches also show why wick tests aren't enough. The move above 4056.86 lacked a valid held retest, while 4068.”
