S&P 500 Daily Regime, 3 November 2026
Regime: Bearish correction within a broad weekly range. Sellers control the daily and intraday structure, while 7507.02 to 7525.82 is the next major support area.
W1 and D1 structure
Observation: Weekly price peaked at 7845.02 in early October, then recorded three consecutive lower closes at 7657.87, 7632.83 and 7580.52. The latest completed week also made a lower low at 7525.82. This leaves W1 rotating toward the lower boundary of the wider 7507.02 to 7845.02 range.
Daily structure is bearish. The recovery from 7610.13 reached 7785.07 on 28 October but failed, followed by successive closes at 7678.63, 7580.52 and 7556.51. On 2 November, price rallied from 7540.81 to 7663.56, then reversed and closed near the low. The earlier breaks of 7610.13 and 7580.52 have already occurred and now leave those levels overhead.
Inference: The failed daily rebound and close near the session low favour continued pressure toward 7525.82 and 7507.02. This remains a correction inside the wider weekly range unless price establishes acceptance below 7507.02.
H4 and H1 condition
Observation: H4 recovered from 7525.82 to 7663.56 but couldn’t hold the advance. The final H4 candle fell from 7607.81 to 7556.51, with a 7540.81 low. H1 shows the same failure more sharply: the 15:00 UTC surge reached 7663.56, then price formed lower highs and lower closes into 22:00 UTC. The last four completed H1 closes were 7595.81, 7577.18, 7545.52 and 7556.51.
Inference: H4 and H1 momentum remain bearish. The final H1 rebound is stabilization near the lows, not a confirmed reversal.
Latest M5 developments
The reference price is 7556.51, from the completed M5 candle closing at 22:00 UTC on 2 November. During the final H1 period, price bounced from 7545.27 to 7562.01, then stalled and closed back at 7556.51. The session low at 7540.81 held into the cutoff, but the rebound failed to reclaim the broken 7580 area.
The downside trigger through 7580.52 has already fired. Price subsequently traded through 7555.56 and reached 7540.81. Those breaks are observed developments, not future scenarios.
Levels and remaining paths
- 7540.81: Immediate session low. Continued trade below it would expose 7525.82.
- 7525.82 to 7507.02: Major weekly support zone. Acceptance below 7507.02 would extend the bearish structure beyond the current weekly range.
- 7555.56 to 7562.01: Immediate M5 balance area around the reference price.
- 7580.52 to 7596.06: First recovery barrier. Reclaiming this area would ease immediate selling pressure but wouldn’t repair H1 structure.
- 7618.81 to 7631.56: Stronger H1 resistance and the first area where a sustained recovery could challenge the current intraday decline.
- 7663.56: Failed 2 November high. A recovery above it would invalidate the present H4 bearish continuation thesis.
The primary path remains a retest of 7540.81, followed by 7525.82 to 7507.02 if sellers retain control. A hold above 7540.81 can produce another corrective bounce, but price needs to reclaim 7580.52 to 7596.06 before that bounce has structural weight.
Event risk
The 2 November ISM releases occurred before the data cutoff and have already passed. The remaining high-importance USD event is JOLTS Job Openings at 15:00 UTC on 3 November 2026, which can increase volatility around the US session while price is testing weekly support.

Session Card
Day type: range | Lean: bearish below 7580.52 | Lead scenario: accepted break below 7540.81, 45% | Key invalidation: 7580.52 | Reference: 7554.94, M5 close at 23:30 UTC on 2 November 2026
What changed
After the latest H1 close at 22:00 UTC, completed M5 trade opened lower, reached 7542.44, rebounded to 7562.38 and settled at 7554.94. The 7540.81 session low remains intact, but the rebound again failed to establish trade above 7562.01. Price is compressed between immediate support and the latest recovery high after the earlier breaks of 7580.52 and 7555.56.
The daily and H1 correction remains bearish, though selling directly into 7540.81 offers limited room before 7525.82. Asia therefore needs fresh acceptance below 7540.81 or a confirmed recovery above 7562.01. The prior range cases warn that an initial directional move can reverse sharply, and that confirmation outside the stated entry budget must be passed. Current structure differs because price begins near weekly support after a failed daily rebound, rather than in the middle of a balanced range. Those cases don't establish weights or a repeatable outcome.
Scenario Map
| Scenario | Weight | Trigger | Path & target | Invalidation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Accepted break below 7540.81 | 45% | Two consecutive M5 closes below 7540.81. Within the next two M5 bars, price must trade into 7536.00-7545.62 and fail to reclaim 7540.81, confirmed by an M5 close below 7540.81. Entry: 7537.50-7540.50 after that failed-reclaim close. Expiry: 07:15 UTC. A confirmation below the entry budget is passed. | First opposition: 7525.82, the latest completed weekly low. From the worst permitted short entry at 7537.50, opposition is 11.68 points away against 11.00 points to the stop. Spread and slippage are unknown and excluded. If 7525.82 breaks and holds, 7507.02 is the next separate structural objective. | Scenario close invalidation: an M5 close above 7545.62 after confirmation. Structural stop: 7548.50, beyond the failed-reclaim tolerance and the pre-window 7547.94 recovery close. |
| Recovery through 7562.01 | 35% | Two consecutive M5 closes above 7562.01. Within the next two M5 bars, price must retest 7562.01 within 7557.20-7566.82 and hold, confirmed by an M5 close at or above 7562.01. Entry: 7562.25-7565.50 after that holding close. Expiry: 07:15 UTC. A confirmation above the entry budget is passed. | First opposition: 7580.52, the broken daily close and first meaningful recovery barrier. From the worst permitted long entry at 7565.50, opposition is 15.02 points away against 12.00 points to the stop. Spread and slippage are unknown and excluded. | Scenario close invalidation: an M5 close below 7557.20 after confirmation. Structural stop: 7553.50, below the 7555.56 balance low and outside the retest tolerance. |
| Support compression persists | 20% | Six consecutive M5 closes remain inside 7540.81-7562.01 without completing either directional confirmation. Context-only, no entry. | Target: continued rotation between 7540.81 and 7562.01. Neither boundary offers enough room for a fresh entry without a confirmed break and retest. | Structural invalidation: an M5 close below 7540.81 or above 7562.01 ends the compression context, but the relevant directional branch still requires its full confirmation. |
Key Levels
- 7580.52: Broken daily close and numeric invalidation for the bearish Asia lean if reclaimed and held.
- 7562.01-7562.38: Immediate recovery barrier, formed by the final completed H1 rebound high and the later M5 high.
- 7555.56: Broken intraday support now sitting inside the current balance.
- 7540.81: Untouched session low and the downside decision level.
- 7525.82: Latest completed weekly low and first opposition after an accepted breakdown.
- 7507.02: Lower boundary of the broad weekly range. Acceptance below it would extend the bearish structure beyond the accepted daily correction.
Session Map
- 00:00 to 01:30 UTC: Tokyo cash trading opens at 09:00 Japan Standard Time. Let the opening range form around 7540.81-7562.01. Pre-window moves are context only.
- 01:30 to 05:00 UTC: Hong Kong and Shanghai cash markets open at 09:30 local time. Expansion is actionable only after the relevant two-close and bounded retest sequence.
- 05:00 to 07:15 UTC: Require prompt confirmation. Pass a candidate if confirmation finishes outside its entry budget or first opposition has already traded.
- 07:15 to 08:00 UTC: No new entries. All Asia candidates expire by 08:00 UTC.
No listed high-importance event falls inside this phase. Only candles completed after the 00:00 UTC opening and public publication can activate a scenario.
No-Trade Conditions
- No entry while completed M5 candles rotate between 7540.81 and 7562.01 without a complete confirmation.
- Don't sell the earlier breaks of 7580.52 or 7555.56. Those moves are complete.
- Don't anticipate a break of 7540.81 with a wick, and don't buy proximity to 7562.01.
- Pass any candidate whose confirmation closes outside its entry budget, reaches first opposition before entry, or leaves fewer than two M5 bars before expiry. A later break requires a new candidate.
- Stand aside if price repeatedly crosses 7540.81 or 7562.01 without holding either side, or if unknown spread and slippage materially reduce the mapped room.
What to Watch — Invalidation
A confirmed recovery through 7562.01 would weaken immediate downside pressure, but the bearish Asia lean is invalidated only by acceptance above 7580.52. The accepted daily regime remains unchanged unless price recovers above 7663.56, while acceptance below 7507.02 would signal that the correction is extending beyond the broad weekly range.

The 33.75 point span contained a completed bearish setup, a later invalidation of the bearish lean, and another reversal into the close. The 45% lead scenario hit conditionally. Its complete rejection sequence confirmed at 7719.00 on the M5 candle closed at 01:55 UTC. Price then reached the 7710.63 objective, trading to 7710.13 on the candle closed at 02:35 UTC, before any scenario invalidation. Execution remains unassessable” Lesson from that review: “The lead scenario was precise enough to capture the first completed move, but the range call understated the degree of reversal. The session moved from a valid rejection, through its downside objective, into a complete bullish invalidation sequence, then reversed again before the close. That is whipsaw behavior. The bounded retest requirements prevented loose pattern matching. Merely closing twice”
