SP500 Daily Regime, 26 October 2026

Regime: bearish correction, with an overnight rebound now losing momentum. The reference price is 7638.62 from the M5 close at 06:10 UTC.

W1 and D1 structure

Observation: Weekly price rejected the 7845.02 high and then printed two consecutive negative closes. The latest completed week closed at 7632.83 after reaching 7771.61 and falling to 7610.13. That gives the weekly correction a lower high beneath 7839.17 and renewed pressure near the bottom of the broader 7507.02 to 7845.02 range.

On D1, the decline from 7845.02 has developed through lower rally highs and repeated heavy selling. The recovery into 7771.61 on 21 October failed, followed by closes at 7664.92 and 7632.83. The 23 October candle tested 7610.13, recovered intraday, but still closed weak. The latest completed daily evidence therefore remains bearish.

Inference: This is a corrective bearish regime inside the broader weekly range, rather than a confirmed break into a larger weekly downtrend. A sustained loss of 7610.13 would strengthen the bearish case and expose 7507.02. Recovery above 7675.83 would ease immediate pressure, while 7758.79 to 7771.61 is the more important resistance band. The bearish daily structure remains intact below that band.

H4 and H1 condition

Observation: The first completed H4 candle of 26 October opened at 7658.57, fell to 7616.01 and closed at 7635.63. The next H4 candle recovered to 7647.82 and closed at 7643.57 at 06:00 UTC. This rebound held above Friday's 7610.13 low, but it did not reclaim the overnight opening area or nearby resistance at 7653.82 to 7661.82.

H1 shows an initial slide from 7658.57 to 7616.01, followed by a recovery sequence into 7647.82. The latest completed H1 candle closed at 7643.57 at 06:00 UTC after failing to extend through 7647.82. The rebound has improved the very short-term condition, but H1 remains below 7653.82 and the 7661.82 overnight high.

Inference: H4 and H1 are attempting to stabilize above 7610.13, although the recovery still looks corrective while price remains below 7653.82 to 7661.82. Acceptance above 7661.82 would open 7675.83, then 7702.97. Failure beneath 7653.82 keeps pressure directed back toward 7628.01, 7616.01 and 7610.13.

Latest M5 developments

Observation: Since the latest H1 close, M5 fell from 7643.32 to 7638.62. The two completed candles reached 7638.12, moved below the H1 close at 7643.57 and broke the immediate 7640.57 intrahour floor. That weakness has already occurred and leaves price near the low of the post H1 move.

Inference: The overnight rebound is losing momentum. The immediate bearish path remains active below 7643.57, with 7638.12 now being tested and 7633.32, 7628.01, then 7616.01 beneath it. A reclaim of 7643.57 would reduce the immediate downside pressure, but buyers still need 7647.82 and then 7653.82 to turn the rebound into something more durable. Above 7661.82, the short-term picture would shift toward a broader recovery.

SP500 Asia Review, 26 October 2026

Observed price action

The S&P 500 traded a two-sided Asia session but finished close to where the phase began. Price opened at 7628.94, ranged between 7616.01 and 7647.82, and closed at 7631.93.

Selling dominated the first part of the phase. An early recovery reached 7641.69, then price fell to 7616.01 during the hour from 01:00 UTC. That low held above the structural 7610.13 support from the daily regime.

The market then recovered in stages. After holding 7628.01, price advanced through 7633.32 and reached 7647.82 during the hour from 05:00 UTC. The rebound stopped below 7653.82 to 7661.82, so it never challenged the resistance band needed to improve the broader bearish condition.

The recovery failed late in the phase. From 7647.82, price fell through 7643.57, 7638.12, 7633.32 and 7628.01, reaching 7625.87 during the hour from 06:00 UTC. The final hour rebounded to 7641.87 but couldn't hold the recovery, closing at 7631.93.

The accepted daily regime remains a bearish correction inside the broader weekly range. Asia preserved 7610.13, so the larger support failure identified by that regime did not occur. At the same time, repeated failure below 7653.82 to 7661.82 left the corrective bearish structure intact. The session's late loss of 7628.01 weakened the earlier stabilization attempt.

Handover

The current reference is 7631.93 from the completed M5 close at 08:00 UTC. Since the 06:00 UTC H1 close at 7643.57, completed M5 price action sold to 7625.87, rebounded as far as 7641.87, and returned to 7631.93. The downside move through 7638.12, 7633.32 and 7628.01 has already happened.

The next preparation inherits price below 7633.32 and the 7643.57 H1 level. The nearest established support area is 7628.01 to 7625.87, followed by 7616.01 and 7610.13. Resistance remains at 7641.87 to 7647.82, with 7653.82 to 7661.82 still the more important barrier.

Session Card

Day type: range | Lean: bearish below 7643.57 | Lead scenario: downside continuation, 45% | Key invalidation: 7647.82 | Reference: 7631.93, M5 close at 2026-10-26 08:00 UTC

What changed

Since the latest completed H1 close at 06:00 UTC, price sold through 7638.12, 7633.32 and 7628.01, reaching 7625.87. Those support breaks have already happened. A rebound then reached 7641.87 but failed below the 7643.57 H1 close, and price returned to 7631.93 at the London opening.

Asia therefore preserved the larger 7610.13 support but weakened the overnight stabilization attempt. The repeated inability to hold recoveries above 7641.87 leaves sellers with the short-term advantage, although the rebound from 7625.87 warns against chasing weakness directly into 7616.01 and 7610.13.

The selected 21 October London case also began with compression near a broken support area. Its decline reached the mapped support before reversing sharply, which challenges the preferred bearish branch here. The 22 October case likewise rewarded the bearish read but exposed the danger of relying on an opening move that couldn't be verified after the preparation became active. Fresh M5 confirmation is required today.

The accepted daily regime remains intact. London can test its boundaries, but this preparation doesn't change the bearish correction unless the established higher-timeframe invalidation is reached.

Key Levels

  • 7653.82: First established resistance beyond the Asia rebound high. Holding above it would improve the intraday structure.
  • 7647.82: Asia high and numeric invalidation for the bearish London lean.
  • 7638.12 to 7643.57: Overhead target zone combining the broken 7638.12 support, the 7641.87 rebound high and the latest completed H1 close at 7643.57.
  • 7625.87 to 7633.32: Current decision zone combining the post-H1 low, broken 7628.01 support, the 7631.12 hourly low and the earlier 7633.32 intraday floor.
  • 7616.01: Asia low and first established objective after confirmed acceptance below 7625.87.
  • 7610.13: Friday's daily low and the more important support beneath 7616.01.

Session Map

  • 08:00 to 09:00 UTC: Let the opening movement resolve the 7625.87 to 7633.32 decision zone. The prior break of 7628.01 isn't a fresh short signal. Continuation needs a new close below 7625.87 and a failed reclaim.
  • 09:00 to 11:00 UTC: Below 7625.87, watch whether 7616.01 holds before expecting 7610.13. Above 7633.32, the first recovery objective is the grouped 7638.12 to 7643.57 zone.
  • 11:00 to 12:00 UTC: Avoid initiating after a straight move into 7610.13, 7647.82 or 7653.82. Require consolidation and another completed trigger before acting.

No scheduled high-impact event falls inside the London phase. The listed 27 October releases are outside today's window.

No-Trade Conditions

  • Stand aside if M5 candles repeatedly cross 7628.01 and 7633.32 without holding either side.
  • Don't short solely because 7638.12, 7633.32 and 7628.01 broke earlier. Those are completed developments.
  • Don't buy the rebound unless an M5 close above 7633.32 follows a test of the lower decision zone, or price completes the stronger recovery sequence above 7643.57.
  • Avoid chasing a downside candle that reaches 7616.01 before the required failed reclaim of 7628.01.
  • Stand aside if one M5 candle spans both 7625.87 and 7643.57, or if spreads and slippage widen materially.

What to Watch — Invalidation

A completed M5 close above 7647.82 invalidates the bearish London lean and shifts attention to 7653.82, then 7661.82. Failure to hold above 7641.87 after a break of 7643.57 would warn that the recovery is another rejected bounce. On the downside, a break of 7625.87 that quickly reclaims 7633.32 would echo the sharp reversals seen in the selected London comparisons and argue against pressing the preferred scenario near 7616.01 or 7610.13.

The first target at 7718.18 sat almost exactly where selling stopped, with the phase low only 1.07 points lower. Keeping 7709.22 as a secondary target also prevented treating one target touch as proof of continued downside acceptance. The main weakness was verification.
