Market data as of

XAUUSD Daily Regime, 6 November 2026

Regime: Higher timeframe bearish correction, with a strong daily rebound now meeting resistance and losing intraday momentum.

The reference price is 4088.78, from the M5 candle closed at 2026-11-05 22:00 UTC.

Structure

W1 observation: The completed weekly sequence remains bearish. Price fell from the August peak at 4696.66, then formed lower highs and lower lows. The last completed week closed at 3875.28, near its 3869.99 low, after breaking beneath the prior 3975.59 weekly low. That keeps the broader correction intact. This week's completed daily candles show a rebound from 3878.97, but there is no completed W1 candle confirming a weekly reversal.

D1 observation: Gold recovered sharply from 3869.99 and printed a strong bullish close at 4060.16 on 4 November. The 5 November session extended to 4146.83 but closed back at 4088.78. That rejection left the close below 4110.50 and the former 4125 to 4145 congestion area.

Inference: The daily rebound is still meaningful, but the rejection at 4146.83 makes it corrective until price can establish closes above 4146.83. Below that level, rallies remain vulnerable to renewed weekly selling.

H4 and H1 condition

H4 advanced from 3919.79 to 4146.83, then stalled. The final two H4 candles fell from 4125.68 to 4088.78, with successive lows at 4076.11 and 4081.33. This is a clear loss of upside momentum after the rebound, although price remains above the 4 November breakout area around 4055 to 4070.

H1 turned bearish after the 4146.83 high. The late session formed lower highs from 4135.74 and 4127.82, then closed at 4104.35, 4098.99 and 4088.78. The earlier recovery from 4076.11 to 4127.82 failed, so 4127.82 is now the nearest meaningful intraday resistance rather than an active bullish breakout point.

Latest M5 development

The final completed H1 hour opened at 4099.29, broke lower immediately, reached 4081.33 and closed at 4088.78. M5 then consolidated between 4083.34 and 4091.71 for most of the hour. The break beneath 4095.54 and the test of 4081.33 have already happened. There are no completed M5 candles after the latest H1 close, so no later recovery or continuation is confirmed.

Levels and remaining scenarios

  • 4146.83: Daily and H4 rejection high. A sustained recovery above it would weaken the corrective bearish reading and expose 4170.20, then 4190.17 to 4207.32.
  • 4127.82 to 4135.74: First resistance band. Rejection here would preserve the late H1 downtrend.
  • 4110.50 to 4117.75: Former support and current near-term resistance after the late breakdown.
  • 4091.71 to 4099.45: Immediate M5 recovery barrier. Remaining below it keeps pressure on 4081.33.
  • 4081.33 to 4076.11: First support zone, already tested. A fresh close below the zone would expose 4070.45, 4057.54 and 4048.51.
  • 4029.16 to 4005.19: Deeper support from the 4 November advance and prior daily structure.
  • 3970.92, 3919.79 and 3869.99: Lower supports if the daily rebound unwinds fully.

The primary scenario is consolidation or further weakness while price remains below 4117.75, with 4081.33 to 4076.11 under pressure. A recovery through 4117.75 would allow another test of 4127.82 to 4146.83, but only acceptance above 4146.83 would shift the daily rebound back toward continuation.

Event risk

High impact USD labour data are scheduled for 2026-11-06 at 13:30 UTC: Unemployment Rate, Nonfarm Payrolls and Average Hourly Earnings m/m. The shared release time raises the risk of sharp movement through nearby levels, especially 4076.11 below and 4117.75 above.

Day type: whipsaw | Lean: bearish below 4117.75, but only after fresh rejection | Lead scenario: rejection beneath 4099.45, 40% | Key invalidation: 4117.75 | Reference: 4097.36, M5 close at 2026-11-05 23:30 UTC

What changed

After the latest H1 close at 4088.78, price broke the already-tested 4081.33 and 4076.11 supports before Asia opened. M5 reached 4070.96, one tick above 4070.45, then reversed sharply. The final supplied candle closed at its 4097.36 high. Those support breaks and the rebound are completed context, not executions of this preparation.

The rebound reclaimed 4091.71 but stopped below 4099.45. This leaves price between a recovered short-term barrier and the last H1 breakdown point. Sellers lost immediate control below 4076.11, but buyers haven't repaired the late H1 decline or reclaimed 4110.50 and 4117.75.

Recent selected range preparations often became trend or trap sessions. That challenges a passive range call here, especially after the pre-opening sweep and reversal. The practical response is to classify the phase as whipsaw and require a fresh post-opening close and bounded retest. The earlier reviews also warn that a later move cannot rescue a failed first candidate.

Key Levels

  • 4117.75: numeric invalidation of the immediate bearish lean.
  • 4110.50: first structural opposition for a confirmed recovery.
  • 4099.45: last H1 high and the threshold buyers still need to reclaim.
  • 4097.36: pre-opening rebound close and current reference.
  • 4091.71: reclaimed M5 barrier and rejection confirmation threshold.
  • 4081.33: first downside opposition after a fresh rejection.
  • 4076.11: former support already broken before the phase.
  • 4070.45-4070.96: daily breakout high and pre-opening low, separated by 0.51 points and grouped within the supplied 4.04-point tolerance.
  • 4057.54: first opposition below a fresh 4070.45 breakdown.

Session Map

  • 00:00 UTC: Asia begins with the Tokyo cash open at 09:00 Japan Standard Time. Require fresh confirmation because the sweep to 4070.96 and rebound to 4097.36 occurred before the window.
  • 01:30 UTC: Hong Kong and Shanghai cash markets open at 09:30 local time. Pass any opening impulse that reaches first opposition before completing its retest.
  • 02:00 to 05:00 UTC: Main follow-through window. Rejection below 4099.45 keeps 4081.33 exposed; a held reclaim shifts focus to 4110.50.
  • 05:00 to 08:00 UTC: Late phase. New entries expire at 07:30 UTC, leaving the final 30 minutes for management only.

No supplied scheduled event falls inside the Asia phase.

No-Trade Conditions

Do not sell the pre-opening breaks of 4081.33 or 4076.11. They have already occurred and were followed by a full recovery to 4097.36. A fresh downside continuation requires a new close below 4070.45 and its own bounded failed reclaim.

Stand aside while price repeatedly crosses 4091.71-4099.45 without completing one of the stated confirmation sequences. A wick above 4099.45 isn't a recovery trigger, and a wick below 4070.45 isn't a breakdown trigger. Pass any candidate whose confirmation closes outside its entry area, arrives after its bar limit, or follows a trade through first opposition.

The rejection short has thin room: from its worst permitted entry at 4090.50, 4081.33 is 9.17 points away and the 4100.30 stop is 9.80 points away. The recovery entry leaves 10.00 points from 4100.50 to 4110.50, against 5.70 points to the 4094.80 stop. The breakdown entry leaves 11.46 points from 4069.00 to 4057.54, against 7.80 points to the 4076.80 stop. Spread, commission and slippage are unknown and reduce each amount of room. The rejection branch should be passed if actual costs remove defensible room.

Each candidate starts watching, becomes triggered only after both required closes and the bounded retest, then is entered or passed. A decisive reclaim cancels the active candidate. Any later break is a new sequence.

What to Watch — Invalidation

A completed recovery through 4099.45 followed by the specified held retest invalidates the immediate rejection setup and opens 4110.50. Holding above 4117.75 removes the bearish Asia lean and exposes 4127.82, but it doesn't change the accepted daily regime.

Below price, 4081.33 and 4076.11 have already failed once and cannot be presented as untouched support. The stronger continuation test is 4070.45. Acceptance below it would expose 4057.54, while a quick recovery above 4073.38 cancels that breakdown candidate. The accepted daily bearish-correction regime is challenged only by sustained recovery above 4146.83.

Session Summary

Asia became a bearish trend session, not the prepared whipsaw. XAUUSD rose from 4085.76 to 4106.69 during the first hour, then sold off to 4035.57 before closing at 4055.50. The 71.12-point range and 30.26-point net decline kept the bearish lean correct, although the early recovery produced a confirmed losing branch before the downside scenarios succeeded.

The preparation grades Partial. All three conditional scenarios triggered: the 35% recovery missed, while the 40% rejection lead and 25% fresh breakdown hit both of their stated objectives. Execution remains unassessable because the frozen guidance marks every entry rule ambiguous, so none of these conditional results establishes an executable trade.

Grade Card

ScenarioWeightOutcomeTrigger and reaction
Rejection beneath 4099.4540%HitThe sequence completed at the 01:10 UTC close of 4088.16. Price then traded through 4081.33 and 4076.11 by the 01:25 close, without a completed close above 4099.45.
Recovery through 4099.4535%MissThe held-retest sequence completed at the 00:20 UTC close of 4101.83. Price never reached 4110.50 and closed below 4095.54 at 00:50, invalidating the branch.
Fresh breakdown below 4070.4525%HitAfter an earlier incomplete sequence, a new breakdown and bounded retest completed at the 01:55 UTC close of 4069.06. Price reached 4057.54 by 02:00 and 4048.51 by 03:15, with no intervening close above 4073.38.

The lead scenario hit conditionally. The overall result remains Partial because the recovery branch also triggered and missed. The day-type call was wrong, but the bearish lean was correct.

The Tape

The opening hour supplied the session's trap. Price closed above 4099.45 at 00:10, held the permitted retest floor at 4095.54 and completed the recovery trigger at 00:20. That recovery stalled below 4110.50, with the phase high fixed at 4106.69. The 00:50 close at 4092.81 broke the branch's 4095.54 invalidation.

The next sequence turned decisively lower. A trade into 4097.36 to 4099.45 was followed by the required closes beneath 4091.71, completing the rejection at 4088.16. The 01:20 candle closed at 4087.46, then the candle closed at 01:25 traded down to 4074.95. That cleared both 4081.33 and the separate 4076.11 objective.

The first breakdown attempt below 4070.45 didn't complete. After the 01:30 close at 4063.59, price reached 4056.49 and retested above 4070.45 within the next candle, leaving intrabar order unknowable. The following candle also traded above the permitted 4076.11 cap. A fresh sequence began with the 01:45 close at 4066.27 and confirmed at 01:55 after a bounded retest to 4071.15 and a close at 4069.06.

Selling then extended through 4057.54 and 4048.51. Hourly closes fell to 4058.46 at 02:00 and 4044.58 at 04:00. Price based between 4035.57 and roughly 4052.70 for the rest of the phase, then recovered into the 4055.50 close.

What We Learned

The bearish read was sound, but the whipsaw classification understated the persistence of the decline after the opening recovery failed. The recovery trigger was structurally complete and must remain a miss. The later selloff cannot erase it.

The bounded retests still added value. They separated the opening recovery, the later rejection and the valid second breakdown sequence. They also exposed the execution problem: the rejection confirmed at 4088.16, below its 4090.50 to 4091.71 entry area, while the frozen replay cannot resolve any branch's entry rule. Conditional accuracy and executable performance therefore remain separate.

Handover

Current ungraded handover context is 4055.50 at the 08:00 UTC close. Price has recovered from the 4035.57 Asia low, but it remains below 4057.54 and far beneath the broken 4070.45 to 4076.11 area. That former support band is now the first meaningful recovery test. Above it, 4081.33 and 4091.71 are the next barriers.

Below 4057.54, the immediate structure remains damaged. A failure around 4057.54 or 4070.45 would keep 4048.51 and the 4035.57 Asia low exposed. Acceptance above 4076.11 would weaken the immediate downside pressure, but 4099.45 and 4117.75 remain the larger repair levels. High-impact USD labour releases are scheduled together at 13:30 UTC, so the next preparation should treat any approach to these levels ahead of that release as event-sensitive.

What changed

Gold extended the accepted bearish correction overnight. Price fell from 4106.69 to 4035.57, breaking 4081.33-4076.11, 4070.45, 4057.54 and 4048.51. Those breaks and the test of 4035.57 happened before London opened, so they are context rather than fresh triggers.

The final pre-open H1 candle then recovered from 4041.70 to close at 4055.50, just beneath the 4056.49-4057.54 resistance zone. That rebound interrupts the immediate selloff but hasn't repaired the sequence of lower H1 highs and lows. There are no completed M5 candles after the latest H1 close.

The selected 4 November case warns that a range-style opening can become a one-sided trend once nearby resistance is accepted. The 29 October case shows the opposite risk: a bearish lean near support can be invalidated during a whipsaw. Today’s lead therefore needs a fresh close below the overnight low and a bounded failed reclaim. Direction alone isn't enough.

Key Levels

  • 4070.30-4076.11: prior H4 high, overnight rebound high and broken support, grouped within the supplied 4.04-point adjacency tolerance.
  • 4056.49-4057.54: broken H4 and daily support, now the first recovery barrier.
  • 4048.51: former H4 high and the central rotation level beneath the reference.
  • 4041.70: final pre-open H1 low and lower boundary of the opening balance.
  • 4035.57-4037.30: overnight lows and fresh breakdown decision zone.
  • 4029.16: first separated downside objective.

Session Map

  • 08:00 UTC: London cash open, 08:00 GMT in Europe/London. Only completed M5 candles after the opening and public availability can qualify.
  • 08:00 to 10:00 UTC: judge whether the pre-open rebound fails beneath 4057.54 or gains acceptance above it. Don't sell the overnight decline.
  • 10:00 to 12:30 UTC: require the full close and bounded-retest sequence. A confirmation outside its entry budget is passed.
  • 12:30 to 13:00 UTC: no new entries. Both executable candidates expire at 12:30 UTC.

There is no scheduled high-importance event inside this phase. The supplied concentrated USD labour release is after the phase ends.

No-Trade Conditions

  • Don't treat the completed breaks of 4076.11, 4070.45, 4057.54 or 4048.51 as new London triggers.
  • Don't short a wick beneath 4035.57. The breakdown requires a completed close and one bounded failed reclaim.
  • Don't buy directly into 4056.49-4057.54. The recovery needs acceptance, a retest and a confirming close.
  • Stand aside during the opening-balance condition or if repeated closes alternate across 4048.51 without completing either sequence.
  • Pass a valid directional confirmation if price is outside its stated entry area or unknown costs consume the room to first opposition.
  • A decisive reclaim that violates a candidate's close threshold cancels it. Any later break is a new candidate and needs a new bounded retest.

What to Watch — Invalidation

A completed M5 close above 4076.11 invalidates the immediate bearish lean by reclaiming the full first resistance zone. Until then, the rebound remains beneath broken support and a fresh confirmed break of 4035.57 can expose 4029.16. Reclaiming 4076.11 would repair the London structure, but it wouldn't overturn the accepted higher-timeframe bearish correction.

Price pierced 4016.94 intrabar but never closed below it, preventing a short from being credited directly into support. Session Summary

London was an upside trap, not the prepared trend. Gold rallied from the phase low at 4049.91, closed above the bearish lean invalidation at 4076.11, and reached 4081.03 before reversing. The final four H1 closes stepped down from 4072.59 to 4061.67.

No scenario completed its stated trigger. This was a no-trigger, no-trade phase, so the preparation grades partial under the three-value contract. The 45% lead remained inactive, while the two directional execution replays remain unassessable under the supplied guidance.

Grade Card

ScenarioWeightOutcomeExecutionEvidence
Fresh downside breakdown45%Not triggeredUnassessableNo gradeable M5 candle closed below 4035.57, so the required break, retest and confirming close never began.
Recovery through immediate resistance35%Not triggeredUnassessableThe first M5 close above 4057.54 was 4065.70 at 08:20 UTC. None of the next three candles retested 4055.14 to 4057.54, so there was no complete confirmation. The later visit to the 4070.30 to 4076.11 target zone cannot count without that trigger.
Opening balance and rotation20%Not triggeredContext-onlyOnly the first two gradeable closes stayed inside 4041.70 to 4057.54. The 08:20 UTC close at 4065.70 broke the upper boundary before six qualifying candles formed.

The bearish lean was incorrect. It was explicitly valid only below 4076.11, and the M5 candle closed at 4078.64 at 09:05 UTC. The later reversal doesn't undo that invalidation. The trend day call was also incorrect because the initial upside break failed and price rotated back through the opening advance.

The Tape

The first phase hour drove from 4055.39 to an H1 close at 4075.83, with a 4049.91 low and 4075.97 high. On the gradeable M5 tape, resistance gave way with the 4065.70 close at 08:20 UTC. Price continued through 4070.30 and eventually closed above 4076.11 at 09:05 UTC, then printed the phase high at 4081.03.

The breakout couldn't hold. The 09:00 UTC H1 candle closed at 4072.59, back below 4076.11. Selling then became orderly: the next H1 candles closed at 4064.30, 4062.78 and 4061.67. Price never returned near 4035.57, so the lead breakdown remained irrelevant throughout the gradeable window.

What We Learned

The preparation correctly refused to credit direction without a bounded retest. That filter mattered because the recovery moved straight through resistance and reached its target zone without returning to 4055.14 to 4057.54. It described a move, but not the prepared setup.

The map lacked a branch for immediate acceptance above 4057.54 followed by failure around 4076.11 to 4081.03. That was the defining sequence. A future map should distinguish sustained acceptance from an opening expansion that clears resistance without offering the required entry and then closes back below the reclaimed zone.

The downside lead was too remote once the opening recovery held above 4049.91. Keeping the 4035.57 trigger protected against chasing the overnight decline, but the preparation needed a clearer failed-break alternative around the stated 4076.11 lean invalidation.

Handover

Current, ungraded context: the final supplied M5 candle closed at 4061.67. The failed push above 4076.11 leaves 4070.30 to 4076.11 as immediate overhead resistance, with 4081.03 marking the phase high. Below, 4057.54 is the first decision level, followed by 4048.51 and 4041.70. The untouched 4035.57 to 4037.30 zone remains the next separated downside trigger area, with 4029.16 beneath it.

The next preparation should treat 4057.54 to 4076.11 as the active range of control. Acceptance above 4076.11 would reopen 4081.03, while a completed break below 4057.54 would expose 4048.51 and 4041.70. High-impact USD labour releases are scheduled for 13:30 UTC, so any post-London plan needs fresh confirmation after that event rather than carrying the London structure forward unchanged.

Session Card

Day type: event-suspended | Lean: bearish below 4081.03, confirmation required | Lead scenario: renewed failure below 4056.44, 45% | Key invalidation: 4081.03 | Reference: 4061.67 from the M5 candle closed at 13:00 UTC

What changed

Gold extended the daily regime's weakness before New York opened. Price broke the previously tested 4081.33 to 4076.11 support, traded through 4070.45, 4057.54 and 4048.51, then reached 4035.57. Those breaks are completed context. They aren't future triggers for this preparation.

The decline didn't hold at its low. Gold recovered from 4035.57 to 4081.03, but that rebound stopped just beneath the broken 4081.33 structure. The next three completed H1 candles closed at 4064.30, 4062.78 and 4061.67. Price is therefore opening New York below the rebound high, while holding just above the 4056.44 to 4059.37 decision zone.

No completed M5 candles are supplied after the latest H1 close at 13:00 UTC, so no New York trigger has fired. The higher timeframe bearish correction remains accepted. Its broader invalidation stays at 4146.83, while 4081.03 is the nearer session level that would cancel the immediate bearish lean.

The selected event-risk cases warn that an event-suspended opening can become a whipsaw or trap. The closest comparison is 5 November, when a breakdown confirmed only after its first objective had traded and then failed immediately. Today's bearish candidate is therefore passed if 4048.51 trades before confirmation. The 4 November case shows the other side: a held retest can support continuation, but the current market is below broken support rather than building above it.

Session Map

  • 13:00 to 13:25 UTC: Observe the opening balance around 4056.44-4059.37. No trigger is valid before public availability and the phase opening.

  • 13:25 to 13:45 UTC: No new entry around the 13:30 UTC US labour releases. A release wick or first close is insufficient. Wait for the complete close and bounded-retest sequence.

  • 13:45 to 14:30 UTC: Assess whether price confirms below 4056.44 or rebuilds toward 4081.03. Pass the bearish candidate if 4048.51 trades before confirmation.

  • 14:30 UTC: The New York Stock Exchange cash session opens at 09:30 Eastern Standard Time. Treat an isolated opening sweep as incomplete.

  • 14:30 to 19:00 UTC: Apply the stated entry budgets and expiries. A decisive reclaim cancels the active candidate; a later break starts a new candidate and requires the full sequence again.

  • 19:00 to 22:00 UTC: All mapped plans are expired. Later movement is observation only under this preparation.

No-Trade Conditions

Do not enter from 13:25 to 13:45 UTC, on a wick through a threshold, or after only the first qualifying close. Stand aside while M5 closes alternate across 4056.44 and 4059.37 without completing the bounded retest.

Pass the short if 4048.51 trades before confirmation, if the entry pullback doesn't reach 4056.50-4058.00 within two bars, or if spread and slippage remove practical room to first opposition. Pass the long if confirmation completes above 4082.50 or the permitted entry area isn't available within two bars. Do not chase a move after its first opposition has traded.

The deeper break below 4035.57 is context-only. No short is justified there because 4029.16 is too close for a stop above the failed-reclaim structure.

What to Watch — Invalidation

A confirmed recovery above 4081.03 would invalidate the immediate bearish lean and show that the overnight rebound has repaired its failed high. It would expose 4091.36-4092.26 first, but it wouldn't change the accepted daily regime. That broader correction remains invalidated only by acceptance above 4146.83.

Below 4056.44, watch whether sellers can complete a bounded failed reclaim before 4048.51 trades. If they can't, the move is late and should be passed. A break of 4035.57 matters only as fresh structural information unless price later develops enough room for a separately justified plan.
