Market data as of

S&P 500 daily regime, 4 November 2026

Regime

The higher-timeframe regime is corrective bearish, with a short-term rebound developing inside it. The reference price is 7578.44, from the completed M5 candle at 22:00 UTC on 3 November.

W1 and D1 structure

W1 has rolled over from the 7845.02 high. The last three completed weeks closed at 7657.87, 7632.83 and 7580.52, while the latest completed week extended down to 7525.82. That sequence shows persistent downside pressure and confirms that the former 7610 area has already been broken. The broader weekly range hasn't broken cleanly below the September low at 7507.02, so this remains a correction rather than a confirmed larger breakdown.

D1 is also bearish. Price has formed lower highs and lower lows since the 28 October rejection from 7785.07, followed by closes at 7678.63, 7580.52 and 7556.51. On 3 November, price briefly broke the 30 October low at 7525.82, reached 7516.97, then recovered to close at 7578.44. That rejection is an observed sign of demand near weekly support, but one positive daily candle doesn't reverse the decline. A sustained recovery above 7632.83, followed by 7663.56, would be needed to repair the daily structure.

H4 and H1 condition

H4 remains below its late October swing structure. The 3 November session first extended the decline to 7516.97, then recovered through 7545 and 7575. The final two H4 candles closed at 7580.74 and 7578.44, showing stabilization rather than a decisive upside break. Resistance at 7594.49 and the 7604 to 7610 area still caps the rebound.

H1 shows a completed intraday reversal from 7516.97. Price rallied to 7594.49, pulled back sharply to 7558.24, then recovered into the final close at 7578.44. This leaves a constructive short-term base above 7558, but the failure to hold near 7594 keeps the rebound vulnerable. There are no completed M5 candles after the latest H1 close at 22:00 UTC. Into that close, M5 had already recovered from 7563.69 to 7582.19 before settling at 7578.44, so the late move was supportive without clearing resistance.

Levels and remaining scenarios

  • 7594.49: Immediate resistance and the 3 November session high. Acceptance above it would strengthen the rebound.
  • 7603.88 to 7610.13: Former daily and weekly support, now the first meaningful recovery test.
  • 7632.83: Completed weekly close and an important resistance level. Reclaiming it would weaken the immediate bearish case.
  • 7663.56: Daily swing resistance. A close above it would materially improve the D1 structure.
  • 7558.24 to 7563.69: Late-session support. Holding this area keeps the intraday recovery intact.
  • 7541.99 to 7545: Secondary support from the afternoon rebound structure.
  • 7516.97: The observed 3 November low. A fresh break below it would reopen pressure on 7507.02.
  • 7507.02: September weekly low and the main higher-timeframe support.

The primary scenario is consolidation or another rebound attempt while price holds above 7558. A break and hold above 7594.49 would expose 7604 to 7610, then 7632.83. This would still be a recovery inside a bearish daily structure unless 7632.83 and 7663.56 are reclaimed.

The bearish scenario resumes if the late-session base at 7558 fails. Below 7542, the market would be vulnerable to another test of 7516.97. A fresh close below 7507.02 would confirm that the correction has extended through the September weekly floor.

Event risk

High-impact USD risk is scheduled for 4 November 2026 at 13:15 UTC with ADP Nonfarm Employment Change, at 15:00 UTC with both ISM Non-Manufacturing releases, and at 15:30 UTC with EIA Crude Oil Stocks Change. The clustered 15:00 and 15:30 UTC releases raise the risk of fast moves and failed breaks around the identified levels.

Session Card

Day type: range | Lean: bearish below 7610.13 | Lead scenario: fresh resistance rejection, 40% | Key invalidation: 7610.13 | Reference: 7594.01, M5 close at 2026-11-03 23:30 UTC

What changed

Since the latest H1 close at 22:00 UTC, completed M5 trade climbed from a 7581.95 low to 7598.89. Price moved above the prior session high at 7594.49, but no supplied M5 candle closed above that level. The final two closes were 7594.08 and 7594.01. This is an observed probe of resistance, not confirmed acceptance.

The rebound has therefore strengthened without clearing the 7594.49-7598.89 resistance zone. The late support at 7581.95 now separates a fresh rejection from continued pressure toward 7603.88 and 7610.13. Below it, 7563.69 and 7558.24 remain the supports that preserve the intraday recovery.

The selected 29 October case warns that an initial rejection can reach its objective and then reverse hard enough to invalidate the directional lean. The 28 October case also shows why confirmation outside the entry budget must be passed. Those observations support bounded retests and strict budgets here. They don't establish numerical odds. The current difference is that price enters this phase directly beneath resistance after recovering from 7516.97, so the bearish lean must be abandoned if 7610.13 gains acceptance.

Key Levels

  • 7632.83: First structural opposition after confirmed acceptance above 7610.13.
  • 7610.13: Former weekly support and numeric invalidation for the bearish phase lean.
  • 7603.88: Former daily support. It is nearby opposition, so no long entry is planned before acceptance above 7610.13.
  • 7594.49-7598.89: Immediate resistance zone, grouping the prior session high and pre-window M5 high within the supplied 4.59 point limit.
  • 7581.95: Pre-window M5 low and the first rejection decision level.
  • 7563.69: Late-session support and first downside opposition after a confirmed rejection.
  • 7558.24: H1 swing low and breakdown threshold for the late base.
  • 7541.99-7545.00: First target zone below the late base, formed by the H4 rebound low and nearby recovery structure.

Session Map

  • 00:00 to 01:30 UTC: Tokyo cash trading opens at 09:00 Japan Standard Time. Let a new test form. The rise to 7598.89 occurred before the phase and is context only.
  • 01:30 to 05:00 UTC: Hong Kong and Shanghai cash markets open at 09:30 local time. Act only after a complete close and bounded retest sequence.
  • 05:00 to 07:15 UTC: Require prompt confirmation. Pass a candidate if confirmation finishes outside its entry area or first opposition trades before entry becomes available.
  • 07:15 to 08:00 UTC: No new entries. All candidates expire by the 08:00 UTC phase boundary.

No listed high-importance event falls inside this phase. Only completed M5 candles after both the 00:00 UTC opening and public availability can activate a branch.

No-Trade Conditions

  • No entry while price rotates between 7581.95 and 7598.89 without completing a stated sequence.
  • Don't treat the pre-window move through 7594.49 as a future breakout. It has already occurred without a close above the level.
  • Don't buy between 7598.89 and 7610.13. The 7603.88 and 7610.13 resistance levels leave no defensible room for the mapped stop.
  • Pass any confirmation outside its stated entry area. A later return requires a new candidate.
  • Stand aside if price repeatedly crosses the relevant retest threshold, if fewer than two M5 bars remain before expiry, or if spread and slippage materially reduce the stated room.

What to Watch — Invalidation

Acceptance above 7610.13 through the stated two-close and held-retest sequence invalidates the bearish Asia lean and opens 7632.83. A rejection that loses 7581.95 instead exposes 7563.69, but the broader corrective bearish regime isn't extended unless 7558.24 also fails. A decisive reclaim cancels the active rejection candidate; any later break must start a new confirmation sequence.

Execution remains unassessable” Lesson from that review: “The lead scenario was precise enough to capture the first completed move, but the range call understated the degree of reversal. The session moved from a valid rejection, through its downside objective, into a complete bullish invalidation sequence, then reversed again before the close. That is whipsaw behavior. The bounded retest requirements prevented loose pattern matching. Merely closing twice”
